Changes in Sexual Points of View
My doctor friend also remarked that he had observed that many young women were very aggressive in their pursuit of boy friends today. This is in sharp contrast to the situation which prevailed when we were young. In those days the girl would wait to be asked out by the young man. My friend blames the pill for this change also. He pointed out that, while taking the pill, girls felt safe from the main consequence of casual sex (omitting VD) and so were out to gratify their desires and sense of conquest.
The above is not the only reason for change in this area. Thanks to the feminist movement, many young people are confused about sexual roles, and many women wish to act like men. However, the Bible does not teach that women are inferior to men - rather that they are equal, yet different. Different they are, too - physically, functionally, physiologically and even spiritually at times, and yet 'before the cross the ground is level'.
Another reason for change in sexual patterns of young people is the propaganda and pressure of the 'permissive society'. The prevailing climate of opinion on a subject has a tremendous impact for good or ill on individuals. Only a spiritual revival can help to change it in our day and in our nation. Let is begin with you and me.
Grant to us, Lord, a right view of the value of people and a right perspective on human relationships. And help us to share this with others, especially our patients, with sympathy and understanding.

Still Waters Run Deep
Life becomes busy, full and tiring. It's a very stark contrast to be asked to 'be still'. For one thing, it can be surprisingly difficult to be still after being busy. I'm often reminded of Elijah in this context, in his severe depression after being God's champion on Mount Carmel.
He needed spiritual and physical refreshment, both of which God provided. But God really touched the heart of Elijah's need, not in the obvious power and noise of earthquake or fire, but in a still, small voice -- just, I think, what he did not expect after God's mighty demonstration of power on Carmel.
It's hard to be still amid a busy schedule, and we shall always have the temptation of other things to occupy us. God wants to and does speak to us when we are still -- give him time to; he alone, by allowing us to experience and know him, can give our lives the perspective they need.
Father, don't let me so swamped with a busy schedulethat emptiness and depression characterise my inner life. Refresh me and assure me of your strength,as you let me know you in stillness. Let me hear your still, small voice daily.

10 Persen Penikmat Askeskin Bukan Orang Miskin

John Jernigan, seorang epidemiolog yang bekerja di CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
