CORDAID (The Netherlands) an international aid organization, is assisting the government in the reconstruction of schools in Simeulue and the reconstruction of 1,100 houses, water supply, sanitation and other small infrastructural works in Seunoddon, Aceh Utara district.CORDAID is seeking highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position based in Lhokseumawe
Position : Translator
Length of contract : 6 months with a possibility of extensionS/he will be involved mainly in a wide range of translating tasks that includes regular/routineproject progress reports, surveys/assessments and monitoring and evaluation. S/he will be responsible for providing verbal and written translation both in the office, communities and at meetings with local authorities, local partners (local/national NGOs & consulting firms).
Qualification and skills required :
- Bachelor degree/equivalent in English language training in University or time spent living/working in English speaking country(s);
- Work experience in one or more of the following fields: Administration, community development, livelihoods, etc;
- Previous experience as a translator in an NGO sector, preferably in development context;
- Previous experience of working in Aceh or with communities experienced natural disaster or post conflict environment;
- Computer literacy, i.e., competent in Office, Windows, Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Database;
- Previous experience of working under pressure, preferably with communities experienced natural disaster or post conflict
- Initiative, flexibility and adaptability to operate effectively under fast changing environment;
- Local knowledge of Aceh language is an asset;
- Other relevant tasks asked by the Project Manager.
